Obama’s War Against Americans is Relentless. His Primary Attack Force is the EPA.

President Obama may be the most focused President we have had in my life time. With the real unemployment at 16+% and real inflation over 9% and with time running out on debt ceiling you would assume that Obama has little time to think about anything else. But none of these critical issues can distract our President from his main goal of forcing America’s energy cost, using Obama’s own words, to skyrocket. He and his storm troopers at the EPA are working non-stop to make sure you can not afford to heat your homes in the winter or cool your homes in the summer.

You are all aware, I’m sure, of the EPA’s new rules on carbon emissions from power plants that will cause the shut down of hundreds of coal-fired power plants and drive electricity cost up as much as 20% or 30% in some regions.. Well, Obama and the EPA decided they hadn’t done enough to destroy jobs and punish Americans in general.

Fox News ran this story six days ago and I’ve not seen it reported anywhere else. So, in case you missed it, allow me to bring you up to speed. The EPA has a new rule called the Cross-State Air Pollution Rule, which requires power plants to install more scrubbers to lower particulate emissions and protect states that are down wind. Here is what the EPA has to say about their new rule:

The EPA says the new rule will ultimately protect 240 million Americans in 27  states from smog and soot pollution and  prevent up to 34,000 premature  deaths, 15,000 nonfatal heart attacks and 1.8 million sick days.

Wow! Aren’t we lucky to have the EPA looking out for our best interest. According to their questionable projections, if you don’t freeze to death in the winter or die of heat stroke in the summer because you can’t afford to pay the higher costs for energy to heat or cool your home, you just might have a chance to live longer, avoid a non-fatal heart attack and, miss fewer days of work due to sickness.

Dear readers I would appreciate it very much if you would let me know if in fact you do live longer or if you have fewer non-fatal heart attacks or if you experience fewer sick days after this new rule takes effect. I mean we really should keep these records so we can verify if the EPA’s  projections were correct or not. So, again, please let me know how it turns out and I will be happy to compile the record and I’ll report back once I have a statistically significant amount of data.

As energy cost go up so do the costs of everything else we buy. Also, how many jobs will be lost directly due to the shut down of many power plants and indirectly  due to our producers of goods and services not being able to compete in world markets? Do you think that Obama and the EPA care?

But hey, maybe I am sounding the alarm too soon. the Fox News article tells us that our boys and girls in Congress are on top this issue:

The House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy  and Power last week approved legislation to hold the Obama administration to  more transparency for the cost of EPA’s regulatory zeal.

The TRAIN Act, which has some bipartisan support,  would require an interagency analysis of all the costs incurred by private  industry because of EPA regulations.

Gee wiz! Doesn’t that make you feel better? They are going to give us a commission to look into the “transparency” of the EPA’s cost analysis. That will teach them a lesson, don’t you think?

Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?
