The Obama Administration is Contemptible

I’ve considered the Obama Administration contempible since day 1. Now a federal judge agrees. Federal Judge Martin Feldman in New Orleans ruled the Obama Administration in contempt for its defiance in reimposing the moratorium on deep water drilling. Read the whole story at Hot Air.

The Obama Administration acted in contempt by continuing its deepwater drilling moratorium after the policy was struck down, a New Orleans judge ruled.

Interior Department regulators acted with “determined disregard” by lifting and reinstituting a series of policy changes that restricted offshore drilling, following the worst offshore oil spill in U.S. history, U.S. District Judge, Martin Feldman of New Orleans ruled yesterday.

“Each step the government took following the court’s imposition of a preliminary injunction showcases its defiance,” Feldman said in the ruling.

“Such dismissive conduct, viewed in tandem with the re- imposition of a second blanket and substantively identical moratorium, and in light of the national importance of this case, provide this court with clear and convincing evidence of the government’s contempt,” Feldman said.

This is a good news but the deepwater drilling moratorium is not the only example of this administrations contempt for our constitution and our laws. We have the FCC defying a court ruling that their plans for Internet neutrality is unconstitutional. We also have the EPA planning to implement Cap and Trade regulations in spite of the fact that Democrat controlled House and Senate could pass the bill. However, on this front there is some good news.

Daryl Fears, writing for the Washington Post, tells us that the GOP has plans to stop the EPA’s contemptible behavior:

Acting on a vow to fight the Obama administration on climate issues, Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, unveiled draft legislation Wednesday to try to strip the Environmental Protection Agency of its power to regulate greenhouse gases under the Clean Air Act.

It is a sad state of affairs when federal judges and Congress have to take extreme measures to stop the Obama administration from breaking the law and defying the Constitution.

The Obama Administration really is contemptible.

  1. Oh… Jim, Jim, Jim… You just don’t understand. These people are smarter, wiser, and more compassionate than you and I. While we believe in freedom, they will bring something much much better: equality (except for them, who, by virtue of their superior intellect, wisdom and compassion will receive special treatment). You see, there’s no way the utopia they envision could turn out like other “everybody will be equal” utopian dreams. How could not drilling for oil while waiting for green energy to finally fulfill all of our needs every lead to energy that is so expensive it crushes the economy? How could burdensome costs for regulatory compliance possibly cost jobs, or result in jobs going overseas? Don’t you understand that it all works out in the end? The problem is we’ve never gone FAR enough to get to the utopia. Others have done it wrong. If we give it all a chance, we’ll all see that innovation and productivity and prosperity are all possible with an economy properly planned and regulated by the smarter, wiser, and more compassionate people. You’ll see, if you give it a chance! /sarcasm off.

    1. Know the Rules. Play by the Rules. Be Judged by the Rules. For 66 years I have lived by those principles, and now you’re telling me that that is not the way it is? WTF!
What scares me, Pat, is that there are a lot of people out there that if they were ti read your words they would say “that’s right!”. It’s an uphill battle, my friend.

  2. What Obama minions apparently forgot is that while Obama may stay out of jail for ignoring the law, they may not. Remember Bush era officials were looking at jail time for their alleged illegal treatment of terrorists. Obama’s goons may be facing their own legal troubles in the future.

  3. Contemptible, that is the perfect word to describe this administration. They are ignoring court rulings and bypassing the Congress in order to implement their radical agenda and this has to be stopped immediately. The Obama regime is running rupshod over the constitution and he is doing so because he feels the end justifies the means.

  4. Obama and his team of radicals never intended on following the ruling of the courts. The only time they will defend a court ruling is when it goes in their favor. America is not about picking and choosing the laws and rulings you like. This type of behavior chips away at the very foundation of our legal system and they know this too. When people began to lose faith in a system and feel that the system is broken, they seek a new system. I believe that is another reason why Obama, his EPA, and FCC are pressing forward without the consent of the courts or congress. They need this constitutional crisis; it falls in line with their radical agenda. After all the one way to sell the idea that America needs to be fundamentally transformed is to create a constitutional crisis that rocks the very foundation of our entire system. Great post Jim.

    1. Thank you for the great comment , John. That is exactly the message I was trying to get across. They want a constitutional crisis and they are working very hard (with the help of the Fed) to cause one.

  5. This post and comments remind me of the bumper sticker that reads, “Obama” ONE BIG ASS MISTAKE, AMERICA” The election of this traitor was not just a small mistake, it was a huge mistake. The fallout from the Jimmy Carter debacle followed us for years and still, today, undermines our Constitution…the fallout from this one is going to be life changing crisis.

Mr. Carey, above, is correct. The intention is Constitutional Crisis….it plays directly into the hands of Obama and America’s enemies. Tragic consequences for our countrymen, our children and their children.

    1. Thanks for setting me straight, Matt. You can probably guess where I’d like to shove that point I keep missing. And you can bet that I would be smiling while I was doing it. I fear, however, it is just one more dream that won’t come to pass.
