If you have been following John Carey’s ongoing documentation of the flood in Minot, North Dakota, you already know about the devastation in his home town. They are currently in full recovery mode, but about the only place you will see news of this is in the blogsphere. The main stream media is covering this tragedy very little. That’s where we all can come in, even if you don’t have a blog. I’ll let John do the talking and explain how you can help.
I have one last favor to ask in regards to Minot’s flood One of our city parks (Oak Park) was inundated by the flood waters and was destroyed. Coco-Cola is sponsoring an event where you can vote for your favorite park. Coco-Cola will provide a $100,000 grant to the park that receives the most votes. Currently Oak Park is in first place. If you would like to vote for our wonderful park and help rebuild it you can do so here>>.
I have already voted for Oak Park and it only takes about a minute to do. Once you click the link to bring up the map, just type Oak Park into the search and it will narrow the map to a few dots. Oak Park is the one at the top. Quick and easy and it’s something we all can do to help Minot, North Dakota rebuild their town. Let’s help them be able to have Christmas in the park.
