It’s Sunday with The Bard of Mudock

The following poem was originally published by The Bard of Murdock on Wednesday, August 10, 2011. [ Note : Be sure to read the article linked by the Bard before reading the poem.]

The New Nixons

When Richard Milhous Nixon
Would use the IRS
To audit his opponents,
They killed him in the press.
But Dennis J. Kucinich
Apparently is free,
To make demands for data
From folks at S&P.
The downgrade has endangered
The Democratic way
Of spending with no limits,
And now there’s hell to pay.
His friends who run the Senate

Wholeheartedly agree,
And want their banking panel
To get the S&P.
Chairman Tim P. Johnson
Of South Dakota fame,
Would have the voting public
Think S&P to blame.
Perhaps the voting public
Should take another look,
At whom we call the victim
And whom we call the crook.

My Photo

My goal is to produce poetical cartoons. I try to
use metaphors and caricatures (or a politician’s own words) to address complex political and social situations. In this way, I sum up current events in humorous verse.

  1. There are no heroes here. Personally, I think DC and Wall Street deserve one another. I say put ’em in a room, take away the money and watch them claw each others’ eyes out.
