Milquetoast Mercenary
Article link: The Republican War on Caterpillars
*
As I concocted battle plans
For carpet-bombing Yemen,
The airways filled with news reports
About a War on Women.
*
I signed upon the dotted line
To get a bit of action,
As fighting in the culture wars
Provides me satisfaction.
*
But when I see the Wassermans
Who battle for their gender,
I’m seized by panic, fear, and dread,
And tempted to surrender.
*
Instead I’ve found another war
That suits me as a killer:
The GOP’s preemptive strike
Against the caterpillar.
*
Those many-legged herbivores
Much better suit my fancy:
I’d rather fight the lot of them
Than face a cornered Nancy.

Profile

- The Bard of Murdock
- My goal is to produce poetical cartoons. I try to use metaphors and caricatures (or a politician’s own words) to address complex political and social situations. In this way, I sum up current events in humorous verse.
Another good one! Can’t the democrats drop all the bellicose language?
Just an aside, it has been estimated that well over 50,000 Africans have died from Malaria since the ban of DDT. Not that I am in favor of its reintroduction, but everything has a cost. Just a reminder. I know I am being concrete today! But I did enjoy!
