The Post-Democracy President

.
To hell with the Congress!
To hell with the law!
To hell with debaters
Who hem and who haw!
 .
While time is a wasting
To salvage my lot,
The Congress is frozen
And doesn’t do squat.
 .
They dilly and dally.
They dally and dill.
And nothing is moving
On Capitol Hill.
 .
And since their dysfunction
Is hurting my cause,
I’ll bypass the process
And make my own laws.
 .
By stroke of my ballpoint,
A tittle and jot,
I’ll sidestep the Congress
To get what I sought.
 .
And with all the power
I manage to seize,
I’ll then have the freedom
To do what I please.

My Photo

My goal is to produce poetical cartoons. I try to use metaphors and caricatures (or a politician’s own words) to address complex political and social situations. In this way, I sum up current events in humorous verse.
