“Gracious in Defeat” a poem by the Bard of Murdock

It’s Sunday and today’s poem by The Bard of Murdock is a satirical look at our President’s graciousness. He published this poem originally on Sunday, April 21, 2013. Please be sure to read the article linked by the Bard before reading the poem.

Gracious in Defeat

Ever gracious in defeat,
The President decries
The winners of the gun debate
For telling brazen lies.
Always gracious in defeat,
Their logic he assaults.
He questions their integrity,
And shames them for their faults.
Truly gracious in defeat,
He points across the aisle,
And paints opponents of his plan
As wicked, false, and vile.

My Photo

My goal is to produce poetical cartoons. I try to use metaphors and caricatures (or a politician’s own words) to address complex political and social situations. In this way, I sum up current events in humorous verse.
