In her first public speech, new EPA chief, Gina McCarthy, went on the attack against those who are not on the global warming-climate change bandwagon. Speaking at Harvard, Ms. McCarthy said:
“Can we stop talking about environmental regulations killing jobs? Please, at least for today,”
“Let’s talk about this as an opportunity of a lifetime, because there are too many lifetimes at stake,”
So, once again, apparently, the science is settled. All of mankind, with the exception of environmental zealots like Ms. McCarthy and Al Gore, are responsible for reeking havoc on this planet just by their mere existence. This song is getting old.
And, she didn’t miss her chance to repeat the Obama meme that going green will create high paying jobs and jump-start the economy.
In her first speech as the head of EPA, Gina McCarthy told an audience gathered at Harvard Law School in Cambridge, Mass., that curbing climate-altering pollution will spark business innovation, grow jobs and strengthen the economy. The message was classic Obama, who has long said that the environment and the economy aren’t in conflict and has sold ambitious plans to reduce greenhouse gases as a means to jumpstart a clean energy economy. McCarthy signaled Tuesday that she was ready for the fight, saying that the agency would continue issuing new rules, regardless of claims by Republicans and industry groups that under Obama the EPA has been the most aggressive and overreaching since it was formed more than 40 years ago.
How’s Obama’s transformation of America working out for you, folks? I’m not sure there will be anything recognizable of America left, by the time Obama leaves office.
Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?
I have an earlier clip of her saying that she doesn’t plan on sitting around waiting for congress to act. I had the same opinion. This will make Lisa aka whoever look tame.
Sadly, Congress will let her get away with it.
I’ve said it before: Greenism is a religion. And those who believe in it are religious zealots.
And I read in the paper yesterday that scientists have created a “test tube” hamburger. Why? To stop global warming of course. Seriously. That was one of their reasons.
You can’t fix stupid, my friend.
McCarthy graduated from the University of Massachusetts Boston with a Bachelor of Arts in Social Anthropology. – That says it all.
Obama knows how to pick’em, dosen’t he? BTW, is there such a thing as an unsocial anthropologist? 🙂

Thanks. I appreciate it.

Thanks for spreading the word, my friend
I never used to think that the EPA was a bad agency.
In fact, I thought it a great advocate for environmentalism and a watchdog against corporate environmental misdeeds.
Unfortunately, like the IRS, it has become corrupted by its own power. Now nameless, faceless bureaucrats who have no accountability (like Lois Lerner at the IRS) make decisions that have huge impacts on our everyday lives and our pocketbooks.
The EPA has been reduced just another tool for pushing political agendas.
During the Republican Presidential debates, Newt Gingrich suggest closing down the Environmental Protection Agency and starting the Evironmental Solutions Agency. Not a bad idea!
Interesting that the same guy that can put the brakes on Obamacare by defunding could also do the same with the EPA – Johnny Boehner. Does he not have the stomach for a government shutdown fight or is he just like Obama, publicly vilify those that privately profit immensely? Seems pretty clear.
Even sadder is the American public for participating in this dog and pony show as if there is truly a fight going on in the beltway for our best interests.
The GOP can’t get out of their own way. As for the public, look at Detroit.
They are all just interchangeable pieces with the same radical agenda (21).
Exactly, Steve.
Do any of you even know what you are talking about- I doubt it. Your little one liners are not informative about anything.. I suggest you take a look at some of EPA’s accomplishments since it was created by Nixon ( a republican). Or you could consider the asthma epidemic amoung children in this country and decide if maybe we need some clean air rules. Here’s another idea take a trip to smog filled Beijing, China where folks where gas masks and consider what life could be like without an EPA.
