Disappearing Red Ink or The Emperor Has No Clothes __ Who Wins and Who Loses?

Ian Fleming’s famous fictional British spy, James Bond, aka Agent 007, has nothing on President Barack Obama. Agent 007 was always supplied with amazing gizmos and gadgets by MI-6 to help him escape from dangerous situations. Now we learn that the CIA has supplied our fearless Leader From Behind (LFB) with disappearing red ink to help him escape from the dangers of his own mouth.

While in Sweden the other day, LFB surprised the world when he asserted that it wasn’t he who drew a red line on Bashar Assad using chemical weapons. PJ Media (Hat Tip to BadBlue Uncensored News) reports on LFB’s response to a question at a press conference:

Let me unpack the question. First of all, I didn’t set a red line. The world set a red line. The world set a red line when governments representing 98 percent of the world’s population said the use of chemical weapons are abhorrent and passed a treaty forbidding their use even when countries are engaged in war. Congress set a red line when it ratified that treaty. Congress set a red line when it indicated that in a piece of legislation titled the Syria Accountability Act that some of the horrendous things that are happening on the ground there need to be answered for. And so, when I said, in a press conference, that my calculus about what’s happening in Syria would be altered by the use of chemical weapons, which the overwhelming consensus of humanity says is wrong, that wasn’t something I just kind of made up. I didn’t pluck it out of thin air. There was a reason for it. That’s point number one. Point number two, my credibility is not on the line. The international community’s credibility is on the line. And America and Congress’ credibility is on the line because we give lip service to the notion that these international norms are important.

Wow! Disappearing red ink! Who would have thunk it? Gee, Mr. LFB, there are millions of Americans who remember your excessive use of first person pronouns when you talked of “your” red line and “my calculus”.

You have to hand it to Barack Obama. He is just as comfortable lying on the world stage as he is in lying on the American stage. But, it is obvious that if President Obama ever had any credibility with other world leaders, it vaporized with his denial that the red line was his. Truly the Emperor has no clothes. None the less, this Emperor is still very dangerous. He is about to set in motion a set of events in Syria and the greater Middle East that can very easily spin out of control.

There is much more going on in this Syrian/greater Middle East conflict than meets the eye. We need to be thinking about what different games are being played and who are the potential winners and losers. In other words, there a number of different actors all of whom are acting in their own interests,

When the so-called Arab Spring began in Tunisia and spread to Libya and Egypt, many of the original protestors were young idealist hoping to break free from their tyrant governments and replace with more democratic governments. But, these young idealist were soon co-opted by the better organized Islamic extremists like the Muslim Brotherhood and their thug enforcers, al Qaeda. This may have been true in Syria, as well, But, what may have started as a civil war in Syria has morphed into war of Sunni Muslims against the Shi’a Muslims. This Sunni – Shi’a war has already spread into Lebanon and Iraq. For the Muslim Brotherhood and al Qaeda fighters, this is the only thing this war is about. The Qatar government is financing the Muslim Brotherhood/al Qaeda faction and Qatar would love to see the Muslim Brotherhood take power as they did temporarily in Egypt. The Saudis, on the other hand, are also financing the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda fighter, but the Saudis do not want the Muslim Brotherhood to take power; hence the Saudi support of the military coup in Egypt. But, Qatar and Saudi Arabia have an ulterior motive. Qatar has the worlds largest reserves of natural gas and they want to be the supplier of Europe, which means they need to see the Shiites removed from power in Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon so they can build their pipeline across those countries and operate in peace. The Saudis see Qatar as a client state and they would see Iraq, Syria, and Lebanon in the same way. Of course, Russia and Iran may have something to say about the plans od Qatar and Saudi Arabia. As the Sunni-Shi’a war becomes more intense in Iraq, Iran will have to become more involved. At some point, Iran will wake up to the fact that their greatest enemy in the Middle East is not Israel; but Saudi Arabia. It always has been.

So, dear friends, you see how this Sunni-Shi’a war that President Obama wants to drag the bankrupt US and Europe  into, can easily spin out of control.

There is another set of players in this conflict. The most important players of all. I’m talking about the proverbial powers that be (TPTB). They are the Rothschild’s, the Rockefeller’s and others. They have been manipulating the world for their benefit for at least two centuries. With the Western economies so fragile, if the point comes that the Saudis get sucked into the actual fighting, the free flow of oil from the region will be severely restricted and oil prices will go through the roof. How will TPTB react in advance of this prospect? The following paragraph is a comment I recently left on a post at Frankenstein Government.

What do The Powers That Be (TPTB) want? Do they want to accelerate the dollar’s collapse or do they want to postpone it? Chaos in the Middle East could serve either case. As the chaos spreads further into Iraq and eventually into the Arabian Peninsula, the free flow of oil from the region will be impaired and the price of oil will head for $200 per barrel or more. TPTB can either sit back and let the dollar collapse and watch hyperinflation run its course or, they can order their puppet in the Oval Office to declare “energy” a national security issue. In the later option, the USG would open up federal lands to oil and gas development, they would order California to allow development of the Monterey deposit (two or three times bigger than the Balken deposit in North Dakota) and the would approve the Keystone Pipeline. The USG would encourage (force) Americans to convert their cars and trucks to operate on natural gas. Soon the US would be a major exporter of oil, coal, and LNG. Energy costs in the US would be the lowest in the world and manufacturing companies would flock back to the good  ole USofA. The bigger fools would keep buying US Bonds and propping up the dollar for as long as the Sunnis and the Shites keep killing each other; perhaps two or three decades.

Most Americans, I’m sure, would like to see that second TPTB option play out. I know I would. Unfortunately, I can’t see how the fragile dollar could hold out long enough for that option to have a chance to play out.

So, our Leader From Behind with the disappearing red ink just might drag the US into a mess it can’t get out of alive.

Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?

  1. This is evidence of a psychopathic personality. The only people I ever knew who would look you in the eye and lie, knowing you know it’s a lie, were very sick puppies. Obama does it to the whole world. He probably dresses up like Napoleon in the privacy of the WH.

  2. The world set the redline and the leader who used chemical weapons is to be tried at The Hague for war crimes. Not bombed to hell. We are not the judge jury and sole executor.

  3. While I’m not sure how the collapse of the dollar helps those powers that be, it doesn’t look like our demented leadership has any intention of promoting an energy independent America. I read yesterday an interesting take on the religious aspect in the Middle East…comparing the split of Sunni and Shiite to the Protestant reformatfion / split between the Roman Catholic domination and the Martin Luther reformation in the 1500’s and 1600’s. meaning this is a long term bloody proposition ….long wars. I just wish there will be a way for us to stay out of it. But with the liar in chief we have…dismal prospects.

  4. What you talking ’bout? I didn’t draw no red line. I didn’t see no red line. Why are you dis’ing me ’bout some honkey red line? You wouldn’t tell no white man he drawed no red line. You racist, dude! You got red line of the mind. Why you that kind? You trying to beat me like a drum, but you ain’t no fun. When the roll is called up yonder, there won’t be no red line. Why you smearing me with some red line? You got red line of the mind.

  5. The day before Obama said he didn’t draw the red line Pelosi and Kerry paid the groundwork for this by claiming humanity and the world drew the red line, clearly this is how the left intends to wiggle out of this. Obama is now making a mockery of the presidency and a laughing stalk of the United States on the world stage. He is an embarrassment.

  6. Yesterday, the supervisor of my homeschool group and a woman who rarely comments to me about politics because she’s more focused on academics had an absolute fit about the recent red line comment from Obama. She was outraged! It’s about time!

  7. How about our native American friends? Why haven’t they demanded retribution for denigration of their once proud pigmentation? Maybe the owner of the Washington Redskins is behind this REDLINE crap.
