Only four? Well, I could probably come up with 400 reasons but who read such a tome? No administration in my life time has been less transparent or more disdainful of the constitution and the American people than the Obama administration.
First, I wish to offer my apologies to the families of those who died in Benghazi for not including Benghazi in my list today. But, if I get started on Benghazi, I won’t be able to stop. So, today I will focus on domestic issues starting with the partial government shutdown and work back in time.
How long has Obama been planning for this shutdown?
We all know that President Obama does like to let a crisis go to waste. But, what if there is no crisis readily available? Well, in the case of the Obama administration, you make plans to ensure you have a crisis that can be used to further your agenda. Since our professor of constitutional law doesn’t believe in the separation of powers outlined in the constitution, he demanded that Congress give a “clean” Continuing Resolution (CR) bill for his approval. He made it clear that he would not negotiate. Obviously, the President knew that the Republican controlled House of Representatives would include spending cuts or changes to ObamaCare in their CR. So, he knew that a shutdown was coming and his people had plenty of time to prepare for it. From this source, a former government employee explains why it had to be at least six months in the planning:
… I have worked in the government on and off for 38 years. During that time I became quite familiar with requisitions, bidding, awarding contracts etc. It is a time consuming process with bean-counters and pencil-necked bureaucrats every step of the way. The simplest request takes months not days or hours. In less than 8 hours of the shutdown, “miraculously”, professionally printed 3X4 foot signs appeared all over the country in the tens of thousands saying- “this (park, facility, etc. with custom logos) closed due to government shutdown.
There has not been a government shutdown in 17 years. These signs were designed, specifications were determined, signs were then requisitioned, bids were posted and vetted, government contracts were awarded. The materials were then ordered and the signs manufactured then distributed by U.S. Mail or freight companies.
This shutdown was orchestrated and planned well in advance, probably at least 6-8 months ago.
The Obama administration knew ObamaCare was not ready to fly on its own.
For conservatives, the “glitches” in the government’s ObamaCare sign-up page on the internet has been the source of countless jokes. But, the millions of dollars spent on this software is no joke. And, we know the adminstration was warned ahead of time that the system was not ready to go. Did the Obama administration care? Of course not. They thrive on chaos. But the sign-up software disaster is small potatoes. But Fox News is reporting on a much bigger ObamaCare “glitch”.
The rollout of ObamaCare has been plagued by problems these past two weeks, as thousands complained they couldn’t sign up for coverage due to a deeply defective website.
But this process could have been easier if a nine-year, government-backed effort to set up a system of electronic medical records had gotten off the ground. Instead of setting up their medical ID for the first time, would-be customers would have their records already on file.
Unfortunately for patients — and taxpayers — the long-running project has produced tangibly few results despite costing the government, so far, at least $30 billion.
If you suffer from high blood pressure, Do Not read this Fox News article. HHS and Obama knew full well this system on which ObamaCare depends was not up and running. They don’t care! ObamaCare was never about making sure all Americans had health care insurance. They have known from the start that ObamaCare was going to fail. They have planned for this chaos as a means to get to their ultimate goal of a government take over of health care in America. To them, wasting a few billion dollars is no big deal.
Obama’s NSA believes the Patriot Act nullified the Fourth Amendment
Nearly every day we learn more about the NSA spying and data collecting on American citizens. We now have the secret FISA courts where the NSA can go and get a warrant to collect whatever information they want on American citizens and the public is not even represented in this “judicial” process. The Fourth Amendment is supposed to protect American citizens from unreasonable search and seizure. But, the NSA and apparently the FISA courts believe the Patriot Act gives them the authority to ignore the Fourth Amendment. Congressman Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.), who was the principle author of the Patriot Act, has had more than enough of the NSA and National Security Director, James Clapper:
In an interesting twist of irony, one of the Congressman most instrumental in the destruction of civil liberties in these United States due to his authorship of the Patriot Act, Jim Sensenbrenner (R-Wisc.), is now leading the charge to rein in NSA abuses. His disgust with the NSA became clear back in early June when he wrote an impassioned letter to Attorney General Eric Holder criticizing the illegal NSA activity happening behind the scenes. The key point here is that Mr. Sensenbrenner strongly believes that these guys are misinterpreting the legislation he wrote to justify everything they are doing. As such, he and others are proposing legislation to make it crystal clear what is and what is not appropriate surveillance.
Not only that, he is also calling for the prosecution of James Clapper the current Director of National Intelligence, who perjured himself in front of Congress earlier this year. Mr. Sensnbrenner said:
Oversight only works when the agency that oversight is directed at tells the truth, and having Mr Clapper say he gave the least untruthful answer should, in my opinion, have resulted in a firing and a prosecution.
The conservative Republican who co-authored America’s Patriot Act is preparing to unveil bipartisan legislation that would dramatically curtail the domestic surveillance powers it gives to intelligence
Let’s wish the Congressman well. He is sure to come up against a lot of opposition.
The Fast and Furious Cover-up Continues
The wheels of justice move ever so slowly. While we have no choice but wait as the civil suit against Attorney General, Eric Holder, moves along in a Washington D.C. federal court, ATF Agent John Dodson, who was the original whistle-blower on the ATF’s Fast and Furious gun running to the Mexican drug cartels. has written a book about Fast and Furious. But, Fox News reports that the ATF wants to stop Dodson from publishing his book.
Dodson, who is working with publisher Simon & Schuster, submitted his manuscript to the department for review, per federal rules. However, it was denied.
Greg Serres, an ATF ethics official, told Dodson that any of his supervisors at any level could disapprove outside employment “for any reason.”
Serres’ letter said: “This would have a negative impact on morale in the Phoenix Field Division and would have a detremental effect [sic] on our relationships with DEA and FBI.”
A negative impact on morale? Heaven forbid! Well, the ATF is actually hanging their hat on their right to deny an employee request for outside employment.
“ATF has not denied the publishing of a manuscript or an individual’s 1st Amendment rights. We have denied Mr. Dodson outside employment which can be denied for any reason by a supervisor,” the agency said. “While his supervisor stated morale and interagency issues for the denial, the fact remains no agent may profit financially from information gained through his federal employment while still an employee.
Dodson is not giving up without a fight. He says “The Unarmed Truth” will come out in January, with or without the ATF’s permission. God for you, Mr. Dodson!
To be sure, the Obama adminstration is not the first in America;s history to have their moral compass bent out of shape. But, they are sure the most In-Your-Face about it. I recall that, after the 2012 election results were in, talking head, Sam Donaldson, said that the thing that irritated him the most during the campaign was the Tea Party conservatives constantly saying the wanted their country back. Donaldson looked into the camera and said: “It’s not your country anymore. It’s ours!” If this adminstration is a reflection of what “you country” is, Mr. Donaldson, you are welcome to it!
Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?
