Obama’s Legacy of Failure

The country’s chief narcissist, Barack Obama, has, of course, a very high opinion of himself as President of these United States. At one time or another, President Obama has compared himself favorably with Lincoln, Roosevelt, Kennedy, and Reagan. But, the Washington Examiner reports o the results of a YouGov/Economist survey of 1000 US adults interviewed October 26-28, 2013 on the greatness of Presidents. My guess is that Valerie Jarrett has made sure that Mr. Obama has and will never see the results of this poll.

Polling highest in the category “Great” was Ronald Reagan with 32% followed by Franklin D. Roosevelt at 31%. John F. Kennedy  pulled in 30% and Bill “Slick Willy” Clinton managed to get 27%. President Obama managed to tie Dwight Eisenhower at 14%.

Not all was bad news for Barack Obama, however. He can brag to his children that he came in first in one category. He may not want to mention that the category was “Failure”. Among failed presidents, Barack Obama pulled the highest at 37% followed by G. W. Bush at 32%, Richard Nixon at 30%, and Jimmy Carter at 22%. I bet that Jimmy Carter has these poll results framed and hanging in his office.

But, hey! Cheer up, Barry! There are still a few people out there who continue drinking your Kool-Aid. One of them, Jonathan Zimmerman, had an article published in the Washington Post. He thinks you should be allowed to run for a third term. He said:

Barack Obama should be allowed to stand for re election just as citizens should be allowed to vote for — or against — him. Anything less diminishes our leaders and ourselves.

That guy has been drinking some mighty potent Kool-Aid, hasn’t he? Me? I’m glad we have the 22 Amendment. Too bad it didn’t cover Congressmen and Senators, as well.

Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?

  1. You will see that all of this jabber about the Dude staying in office is not idle. Notice that Zimmerman’s foolish babble followed hot on the heels of the empty suit telling Baba that he and Bubba plan to stay on after the end of his term. He just didn’t add “and the beginning of my third term.” That has been the plan all along. Perhaps by now he is wondering what might happen to him if he tries it. Hillary Clinton will probably have him assassinated, just as LBJ did to JFK. No honor among thieves.

  2. When do the pollsters start surveying the american public on the question of a third Obamination term? Would not favorable numbers further encourage their plan to ignore the 22nd amendment? And with today’s congress neutered what other body would dare to stand in Valerie’s way? Just as the Obamacare website failing to be up and running by this second artificial deadline is passing like a silent fart at the Thanksgiving table so will this administration’s violating the constitution, and they know it. …when good men do nothing.

  3. I think the proverbial cat is out of the bag on this guy. As I said in my last post at http://www.freemktproject.com, there are a lot of people (specifically Democrats and Independents) who could ignore a lot of what he’s done, because it doesn’t really seem to affect them. The debt? The problem is somewhere in the future. That it’s a problem is a mathematical certainty, but the problems it will cause are theoretical at this point and if you don’t believe (as though the math is something you can believe or not believe) it’s a big deal… it isn’t. Most people don’t feel threatened by the NSA. It wasn’t the Dems and the Independents that were affected by the IRS targeting Tea Party groups. On and on… That Obama’s economy is a travesty depends on understanding enough about economics and capitalism to realize how it COULD be, but so many sources are willing to tell horror stories about capitalism and free markets that most people are simply confused, or they believe the crap that’s being peddled to them… They only know the moment they’re in and they’re sort of getting by, and besides, they think this is just the way it is, the “new normal.” BUT… Obamacare is slamming a lot of people right where it hurts. People can take a percentage point here and there in higher taxes, but when suddenly their health insurance doubles and their co-pays and deductibles increase, and it’s all because of a government program, they start to wake up. Conservatives have been saying for years now that Obamacare is a bad idea. Suddenly, what was a theory that people could believe in or not (that Obamacare is a bad idea because it’s based on economically unsound principles) is a reality that is turning out exactly the way Conservatives predicted it would. And it’s hurting THEM. It’s hurting people they know and love. The absolute incompetence of government in general and Obama and his administration in particular are staring them straight in the eye. It’s undeniable (by anyone but the most faithful cool-aid drinkers).

By next year, when it is obvious that this thing (Obamacare) is un-fixable, and the pain gets even worse as companies start getting hammered by higher health insurance costs, or start throwing their employees into the individual exchanges, a majority of people will not just not want this incompetent to stay in office, they’ll want him run out on a rail. The ability to ignore the pain this big government leftism has brought upon us will vanish. Cool-aid drinkers will sound even more like the babbling idiots that they are as they try to defend Obama. The guy is incompetent. Many of us have said that since prior to his election (not a stretch, he’d never run anything but a campaign in his life). Now, as his own pastor would say, the chickens are coming home to roost.

  4. Pat- of course your comment is based on sound logic and is as well a no brainier. The free radical in this chemistry is the predictable blind ignorance of half the population, a population that doesn’t even require the use of a friction modifier when this abject failure of a president is shoving his destructive policies up their collective ass. If a true unemployment figure of 15-20% wasn’t enough for the jobless to rally around a job creator and unseat this bastard why would the loss of healthcare which is, even now being spun as a republican failure, change the minds of the true believers? The pragmatic cynic in me cannot accept a wholesale rejection of this messianic figure.

  5. In the last week I have seen at least two calls for an Obama third term, what are these people thinking?! It is clear to me that they know Obama has failed and wish he could get another term to right everything he has done wrong, why else could they possibly think he needs another term?
