Palestinians Are Victims Of Apartheid

This humble observer of the asylum we all have to live in has some first hand experience with apartheid. Having made several extended visits to South Africa in the early 1980’s, when Nelson Mandela was still in prison, I was able to witness how the white South African government applied their apartheid laws to blacks, to their large Indian population, and to their Asian population.

Based on what I observed from my many visits to South Africa and after reading this Gateway Institute article, I believe I can say with some authority that Palestinians are indeed victims of apartheid. Contrary to what many in the main stream media want you to believe it is not Israelis or Israel that practice apartheid against the Palestinians. Palestinians are the victims of apartheid as it is practiced by non-Palestinian Arabs.

From the Gateway article:

It is no secret that many Arab countries despise Palestinians and subject them to apartheid laws and strict security measures that deny them most basic rights.

The mistreatment of Palestinians at the hands of their Arab brothers is an issue that is rarely mentioned in the mainstream media in the West. Most journalists prefer to look the other way when a story lacks an anti-Israel perspective.

A story is big only when it is Israel that arrests, kills, or deports.

I don’t pretend to be an expert on Israeli/Palestinian relations, but I have read enough to know that Israel has a not insignificant population of Palestinians within its borders. In Israel, those Palestinians live just like their Jewish neighbors. They go to work every day, they raise their families, they own their businesses, they send their children to good schools, they have access to the same medical services, and they vote and run for and are elected to public office. Now, please read the Gateway article and see how Palestinians are treated in Jordan.

In Jordan, the Palestinians are hated. They are seen as a demographic problem. Jordan has zero interest in becoming a defacto Palestinian state. Over the past three years, Jordan has been revoking the passports of Palestinians and even deporting them by the bus loads. Jordan is even considering a law that would make the children of Jordanian women married to Palestinians take the nationality of their fathers. Since the “civil” war began in Syria, Jordan has accepted many Syrian refugees. But, they turn back Palentinian refugees from Syria. Jordan does not fear the Syrian refugees because some day they will want to return to their homeland. Palestinian refugees, however, are another matter.

These two paragraphs provide a good summary of the Gateway article:

By mistreating the Palestinians and depriving them of their basic rights, Jordan and other Arab countries are driving them into the open arms of extremists, especially Islamist groups such as the Muslim Brotherhood and Hamas.

Jordan, Lebanon and Syria can continue their practices against Palestinians without having to worry about the responses of the international community or the media. No one is going to take to the streets of European and American cities to condemn Arabs for mistreating Arabs.

So yes, Palestinians are victims of apartheid!

Well, that’s what I’m thinking. What are your thoughts?

  1. As an innocent yet informed teenager before and after the Six Day War I couldn’t understand the hypocrisy of a world hating the Israeli people for turning a barren desert nobody wanted into a lush desireable land; a model for the world to hold up and emulate. By the 1973 Yom Kippur War I more than understood the uglyness of this irrational world. The economic and cultural hellholes that places like Rhodesia and South Africa became after expelling the white devils is what is desired for Israel. Destroy the Jews and return the land to the moonscape it once was.
